What is Niacinamide?

Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface.

Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B-3, an essential nutrient. A B-3 deficiency can lead to disorders of the skin, kidneys, and brain. Taking niacinamide can help prevent B-3 deficiency.

What are the benefits of using niacinamide?

  • Immunity. Niacinamide helps build keratinTrusted Source, a type of protein that keeps your skin firm and healthy.
  • Lipid barrier. Niacinamide can help your skin grow a ceramide (lipid) barrierTrusted Source, which can, in turn, helps retain moisture. This is beneficial for all skin types, especially if you have eczema or mature skin.
  • Minimizes redness and blotchiness. Niacinamide reduces inflammationTrusted Source, which may help ease redness from eczemaacne, and other inflammatory skin conditions.
  • Minimizes pore appearance. Keeping skin smooth and moisturized Trusted Source may have a secondary benefit — a natural reduction in pore size over time.
  • Regulates oil. The benefits of moisture retention aren’t just for those with dry skin types. Niacinimide can also help regulate the amount of oil the sebaceous glands produce and prevent your glands from going into overdrive.
  • Protects against sun damage. Niacinamide can concurrently rebuild healthy skin cells while also protecting them from damage caused by ultraviolet rays.
  • Treats hyperpigmentationSome research has found 5 percent niacinamide concentrations can be helpful in lightening dark spots. Benefits were seen after four weeks, but not beyond two months. This benefit may be due to increased collagen production.
  • Minimizes fine lines and wrinklesResearch has also found that the same concentration was helpful in reducing some signs of sun damage that come with aging. This includes fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Protects against oxidative stress. Niacinamide helps build cells in the skin while also protecting them from environmental stresses, such as sunlight, pollution, and toxins.
  • Treats acne. Niacinamide may be helpful for severe acne, especially inflammatory forms like papules and pustules. Over time, you may see fewer lesions and improved skin texture.

How long does it take for niacinamide to work?

You’ll notice some effects immediately although most of the studies on niacinamide showed results after 8-12 weeks. Look for products containing 5% niacinamide. That’s the percentage that’s been proven to visibly make a difference without causing any irritation.

Can Niacinamide be used on all skin types?

For sure. “Niacinamide is a brilliant all-rounder that the vast majority of people – of all ages and skin types – have no problem tolerating. I rarely see someone who doesn’t get on with it,” comments Dr Klaus.

Dry skins will benefit from its help with ceramide production and if you’re dehydrated, it’ll strengthen your barrier which in turn will minimize that all-important water loss. It’s safe to use when pregnant and breastfeeding, too. Make sure to choose a niacinamide product that is organic and free of nasty preservatives and silicone. Some serum are more concentrated then others the strongest found so far is the I’m Fabulous Cosmetics 20% Niacinamide organic serum.

Niacinamide is more frequently studied in combination with other topical medications—not on its own, which makes it difficult to know how effective it would be by itself. Based on the available evidence, well-studied options like prescription retinoids (and sunscreen!) or other antioxidants, like vitamin C, will probably do more for you than niacinamide if hyperpigmentation, fine lines, or wrinkles are your primary concerns. But if your skin is too sensitive to handle those other options, or you’re just looking for a gentler treatment for whatever reason, niacinamide might be a helpful alternative.

Can Niacinamide be used by men and women?

Absolutely, everyone. It is not too old, too young, too fancy, too feminine, too masculine, and certainly not too expensive.

You can use niacinamide-containing products around your eyes, too. Some might find applying a moisturizer or eye cream with niacinamide helps improve the look of under eye circles, helps soften the appearance of crow’s feet, not to mention enables this delicate area to retain skin-smoothing moisture and resist loss of firmness.

For best results, use leave-on niacinamide products and apply them to cleansed skin twice daily. Those with stubborn concerns around advanced signs of sun damage, orange peel texture, lax pores, and oil-related bumps should consider trying an advanced strength 20% niacinamide serum for use once or twice daily.

The utilization of the internet and social media platforms has increased considerably over the past few years. Thanks to technological advancements, the penetration of the internet and smartphones have also risen in developing countries. While these platforms have enhanced the connection between human beings, they are also responsible for making people more conscious regarding their physical appearance. Since people can now easily post their pictures online, they want their appearance to be flawless, owing to which they are widely making use of different cosmetic products. It is because of this that the global derma cosmetics market is projected to attain revenue of $76.3 billion by 2024, increasing from $52.5 billion in 2018, at a 6.5% CAGR during the forecast period (2019–2024).

A major factor that is resulting in the increasing demand for derma cosmetics is the rising disposable income of people across the globe, especially in developing countries. Take for instance India, where, until a few years ago, people used to rely on home remedies for taking care of their skin and enhancing their beauty. Now, however, things have changed, and due to globalization and urbanization, the focus has shifted toward commercial products. The increasing income of people has further allowed them to buy cosmetic and personal care products. The World Bank says that from $443.314 in 2000, the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita of India rose massively to $2,104.651 in 2017.

What Are Derma cosmetics?

Dermacosmetics are a bit different from conventional cosmetic products, since, along with cosmetic action, these products also have dermatological action. These products are specifically helpful when it comes to treating skin diseases, including photoaging, which is caused because of excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation and pollution. The prevalence of skin diseases has been rising all over the world because of a number of factors, such as excessive consumption of tobacco and alcohol.

The increasing applications of cosmetics have been possible due to technological advancements that have aided in enhancing the understanding of skin physiology. Some of the most common skin diseases are hyperpigmentation, acne, freckles, dyspigmentation, deep wrinkles, psoriasis, melasma, and atopic dermatitis. Shedding light on the incidence of such issues, the World Health Organization (WHO) says, “Skin diseases are among the most common of all human health afflictions and affect almost 900 million people in the world at any time.”

Applications of Derma cosmetics

A large number of products, including toners, creams, gels, cleansers, lotions, and serums, are now available in the market for the treatment of skin diseases. Out of all dermatological diseases, acne is one of the most common; it is caused by the blockage of the hair follicles by dirt, dead skin cells, and sebum. A majority of the population across the globe is affected by acne that eventually results in scarring. As per the American Academy of Dermatology, about 85% of Americans are affected by acne during some phase in their lives. The demand for derma cosmetics has been considerably high for treating acne in the past, and the situation is expected to be the same in the coming years.

Other than skin problems, derma cosmetics are also used for hair-related problems, such as hair fall, dandruff, and the damage caused by excessive exposure to pollution and ultraviolet radiation. Shampoos and conditioners are some of the most common derma cosmetics utilized by people all over the world.

Where Can these Products be Procured from?

Different types of derma cosmetics are available at pharmacies & retail stores and online platforms. The sale of these products via pharmacies & retail stores has been higher up till now, as a wide range of over-the-counter products is available in such stores. This being said, the procurement of derma cosmetics is also projected to rise from online platforms in the years to come, which can be ascribed to the rising trend of online shopping all over the world. Derma cosmetics are majorly used at homes, clinics, medical spas, and salons, and hospitals. Clinical, medical spas and salons make the most use of these products, as a number of skin diseases are treated at these facilities.

Asia-Pacific (APAC) To Have Most Flawless Skin in Future?

The demand for derma cosmetics has been increasing rapidly in Asia-Pacific (APAC), which can be ascribed to the changing lifestyle patterns, improving the economic condition of various countries, rising awareness regarding derma cosmetics, growing personal spending, and a strong presence of major companies operating in the domain. Moreover, the incidence of skin diseases is rising rapidly in APAC, which is why people are increasingly spending money on skin treatments.

Many of the key companies offering derma cosmetics, such as Bausch Health Companies Inc., Allergan plc, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble (P&G), Unilever Group, L’Oréal S.A., and Beiersdorf AG, are household names, thanks to their effective marketing campaigns, extensive supply network, and wide range of products.

In conclusion, the adoption of derma cosmetics has been increasing all across the globe, due to the rising incidence of skin diseases, surging purchasing power of people across the globe, and growing focus of people on physical appearance.

Palmitoyl oligopeptide, like palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, promotes the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid in the deepest layers of skin.

Do peptides work for wrinkles?

Yes, as a result, smooth, young skin slowly becomes thinner and wrinkled over time. As collagen deteriorates, it produces certain peptides. … It is therefore important to use a good peptide wrinkle cream. The most commonly used peptide in skin care is Matrixyl (palmitoyl- or oligopeptide pentapeptide). Because peptides are small, they can penetrate the skin’s protective barriers to get to the deeper layers. When copper is attached to a peptide, the peptide can deliver copper to the living layers of the skin. … Copper peptides seem to promote collagen production and act as antioxidants.

Can I use peptides with vitamin C?

Peptides are not recommended to be used simultaneously with AHA-acids – (acidic pH is undesirable for peptides), and peeling should be done prior to using peptides. … With the help of a face serum with peptides, you can increase the effectiveness of products with niacinamide, various moisturizing ingredients, vitamin C.

Are Peptides better than retinol?

In every cell of the human body, millions of proteins are buzzing with activity. Some are massive pieces of machinery, relatively speaking, that direct chemical reactions; others compose the scaffolding that gives cells their shape; and some act as vehicles to carry products and messages throughout the body. There’s no doubting their importance. But there is another class of molecule functioning in the shadow of these behemoths: peptides. The little siblings of proteins, peptides are smaller molecules composed of the same building blocks.

The short answer is prescription retinoids are more potent, but over-the-counter retinoids penetrate the skin better. At least one study shows that prescription tretinoin is 20 times stronger than over-the-counter retinol, which in turn is another 20 times stronger than retinyl palmitate (Clinics in Dermatology, 2001).

Proteins and peptides alike are made of strings of proteinogenic, or standard, amino acids-22 organic chemical building blocks found in the human body. Depending whom you ask, a protein-to gain its moniker-must have more than 20, 40, or 50 amino acids; an average protein in the human body, though, is much larger than this, with somewhere around 500 amino acids. A peptide is any string of at least two amino acids that has fewer than this designated cut-off-a few dozen building blocks rather than a few hundred.

Bioactive peptides are short sequences of 2-50 amino acids derived from some of the major extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins in skin. Their potent biological effects and high potential for synthesis and modification have attracted attention for applications in skin health and appearance. Their primary activities in skin include modulation of collagenelastin, and melanin synthesis and broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities.

Naturally occurring bioactive peptides in the skin are generated by proteolytic cleavage of endogenous proteins present in the epidermis and dermis. The resulting peptide fragments of ECM proteins (e.g., collagenelastin, and fibronectin) serve regulatory roles in skin cells, variably stimulating or inhibiting the synthesis of ECM proteins. Synthetic peptides have thus been generated to exploit this endogenous process in order to influence skin health and appearance.

Too low and too high levels of certain antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) (see Wound healing) have been associated with various skin disorders, such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and rosacea. This article focuses on the roles of peptides in healthy skin, however, and such skin disorders are not discussed.

What Is Collagen?

Proteins are the building blocks for all the organs, muscles, and tissue we have inside of our body. Collagen is a family of proteins that help make up the structure of our bones, muscles, skin, tendons, and cartilage. Because it’s used in so many different sources, the amino acids that makeup collagen are actually the most abundant type of aminos in the body.

Now here’s the kicker: our body produces collagen throughout our lifetime, but as we get older, the rate at which our bodies produce collage becomes less and less.

That’s exactly the reason that the aging process is so visible: because the skin loses the strength and elasticity that collagen is responsible for. If we want our skin to function normally and appear more youthful, we need to ensure that the two main layers that comprise our skin — the epidermis and the dermis — gets the collagen that it needs.

The wrinkle-reducing effects of collagen supplements have been attributed to their ability to stimulate your body to produce collagen on its own.

Collagen is the main structural protein in our skin.  the collagen in our bodies decreases the older we get, thanks in part to environmental factors, such as sun exposure and pollution.

Does this mean consuming collagen can benefit my skin?

Most of the supplemental collagen is formulated in powder form, while some others come liquified to drink. Pills and gummies are popular, too.

Experts say it’s unlikely — especially without evidence. Despite popular belief that collagen supplements can help strengthen our skin, we have little data to truly support this. Collagen is a large molecule that is digested by our intestines into smaller pieces when taken by mouth, so when we ingest powders or supplements, our skin is not seeing the full collagen molecule, but rather protein fragments or individual amino acids.” In other words, you’re not reaping the full benefits of the collagen molecule because it’s broken down in the body so much first.

Best collagen supplements for men skin care

collagen supplements have become so popular recently. It doesn’t require a medical procedure, or a medical professional to administer it. It’s an all-natural product that can be found in a variety of sources, and it works with your body to make your skin healthier and stronger, along with a whole host of other benefits.

Does collagen enhance the skin?

Our bodies produce less of this substance as we get older our skin wrinkles, hair thins, and nails become weak, because the collagen that supports them is less abundant in our body. When dermatologists give patients prescription retinoids to help with such issues, those drugs work by increasing the body’s production of collagen.

Collagen supplements have become increasingly popular because of the belief that it can improve the quality and strength of your skin, hair, and nails. There is a growing body of research that has linked the consumption of collagen peptides to reduced skin wrinkles and healthier skin. More and more people will tell you that taking collagen supplements makes their skin feel stronger and shinier.

Dermaplaning is the one skincare exfoliation treatment that reveals softer, smoother skin in minutes.

What is Dermaplaning?

The Dermaplaning Tool is a facial exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile single edge blade to strip the outermost layer of debris on the face to instantly reveal brighter, healthier skin.

Dermaplaning is an amazing procedure for poeple who have excess vellus hair on the skin. This hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles, so removing the hair gives the patient healthier looking skin.

Can The Hair Grow Back After Dermaplaning?

No, not at all. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.

Removing epidermal skin also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. Physicians may recommend this treatment to prepare the skin for medical procedures such as laser treatments or deep chemical peels. It also may be used by aestheticians to prepare the skin for superficial chemical peels or before a cleansing facial.

Dermaplaning is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance. Dermaplaning can be done as often as every two weeks, although it is usually done when vellus hair starts to grow back, which is generally in one month’s time.

Dermaplaning is a quick, effective procedure that normally takes 45 minutes to complete. It is recommended that patients space treatments approximately two to four weeks apart for the best results. No, there is absolutely no recovery or down time with this treatment.

iS Dermaplaning Painful?

Dermaplaning is actually one of the least painful ways to remove facial hair and dead skin—especially when compared to other hair removal techniques like sugaring, threading, and waxing. Think about it: shaving your underarms isn’t painful, so why would shaving your face be painful? Many people describe the feeling of dermaplaning as a gentle tickle or brushing sensation.

As we age, our cell turnover decreases and this affects our skin texture and tone, Dermaplaning gently buffs the top layer of dead skin cells away helps to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion.

Buff away the dead skin cells that make complexions look dull and contribute to clogged pores and spots. Dermaplaning clears the way so skin peels, facials, skin products and serums can get down into the skin where they need to be rather than sitting on the skin’s surface. It removes peach fuzz / vellus hair and creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on flawlessly.

You can choose to have this wonderful procedure at a spa or doctor office or from the comfort of your home.

What is Snap 8 Peptide?

Snap 8 is an elongation of the hexapeptide, acetyl hexapeptide-3, otherwise known as Argireline. It’s been nicknamed the “anti-wrinkle peptide”. Argireline is a peptide that prevents the formation of wrinkles around the eyes, brow, nose, and mouth – all of the areas of the face that allow us to make expressions and display emotion. How does it prevent wrinkles and lines? Argireline inhibits muscle movement, and has earned the name “Botox in a jar” as a result – but Botox and Argireline work differently.

Botox boosts collagen and helps repair skin to reduce lines and wrinkles. Argireline and Snap 8 work by mimicking the proteins found in the SNARE complex and destabilizing it to prevent muscle movement. If you can’t frown, you won’t have wrinkles from frowning.

Purposes of Snap 8 Peptide

Like Argireline, Snap 8 is meant to give skin fewer wrinkles. By limiting the ability of the face to squint, grin, or glare, the skin is relaxed and expression lines are reduced. Snap 8 is added to many cosmetics in order to give provide:

  • Anti-aging properties
  • Fewer wrinkles
  • Fewer expression lines
  • Reduced crow’s feet around the eyes

Scientific Studies of Snap 8 Peptide

Kinerase studies of Snap 8 conducted by their researchers will reduce the appearance and depth of wrinkles by more than 34%. It is considered a safer method of reducing wrinkles than Botox by most.

In scientific studies involving animal test subjects, Snap 8 operates as a muscle contraction inhibitor. The muscles provide a more consistent method of achieving homeostasis when they are given Snap 8.

Studies also show that Snap 8 works alongside protein Snap 25, which is a T-Snare protein that can regulate the contraction of muscles. When Snap 25 becomes destabilized, wrinkles and lines formed on animal test subjects.

With Snap 8 used in conjunction with Snap 25, the Snap 25 protein remained stabilized for much longer periods of time which provides a more stabilized method of contracting muscles and hypothetically could remove more wrinkles and offer anti-aging properties.

By applying peptides through skin care, we are actually tricking the skin to make more collagen.

What Are Peptides & How They Fight The Look Of Wrinkles:

Peptides are recognized as an “anti-aging” ingredient almost like proteins or amino acids are to bodybuilders.

What are peptides and what is their mode of action?

peptide is any compound composed of amino acids with the chemical structure of an amide between a carboxyl group of one amino acid and an amino group of another amino acid. Peptides with fewer than 10–20 bonds are referred to as oligopeptides; if they include more amino acids then they are polypeptides.

Peptides incorporated in anti-aging cosmetic products fall into three categories: signal peptides, carrier peptides and neurotransmitter blocking peptides.

Signal peptides mimic protein sequences found in collagen and elastin and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin.

Carrier peptides act as vehicles for other ingredients to aid in the enzymatic processes that increase collagen synthesis.

Some peptides are fragmented and can block neurotransmission that can lead to the reduction in facial contractions that would eventually break down the collagen and create the appearance of wrinkles.

Use of peptides in skin care formulations is boundless. Slight modifications in the sequence or differing feedstock can alter the functionality of the peptides.

What Do They Do To Your Skin:

In stimulating collagen production, peptides promote a more elastic and supple look to skin and increase the youthful appearance of the complexion.

Studies on oligopeptides (the type used in I’M FABULOUS COSMETICS products) have been published in the Journal of Cosmetics, Dermatological Sciences, and Applications.

The peptide is responsible for activation of a wide range of skin health functions, including wound healing, immune function, collagen synthesis, blood vessel development, fibroblast production and anti-inflammatory responses.

The concentration of this peptide in human plasma continues to drop with aging past late teenage years and this drop exceeds 55% by age 55.

Many anti-aging products on the market contain variations of copper peptides in extremely small amounts. Generally, these variation peptides are found in parts per million in active technologies that topical products claim to include at high percentages but the final concentration of the variation peptides in topical products is generally less than 0.01% and these peptides would then have to be converted to even smaller amounts of pure copper peptides within the skin.

This fabulous serum contains 5.0% pure Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu) to be mixed with a specialized organic and vegan activator before first use. This extraordinary concentration allows activation of a wide array of skin health functions that help to prevent and reverse largely all aspects of visible skin aging, including textural damage, uneven pigmentation, loss of elasticity, lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and general lack of a healthy radiance present in younger skin. In short, the skin will act and look younger starting within 5 days with continued improvements over time.

Animo Acids: (Sodium L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, Sodium Lactate, LArginine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Pyrrolidonecarboxylic Acid, Glycine, L-Alanine, L-Serine, L-Valine, L-Proline, L-threonine, L-Isoleucine, L-Histidine, L-Phenylalanine). Amino acids make up 75% of the human body. proteins, amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. They band together in chains to form the stuff from which life is born. This is a two-step process: first, they get together and form peptides or polypeptides, and it is from these groupings that proteins are made. Two amino acids joined in a peptide bond constitute a dipeptide, three a tripeptide, several an oligopeptide, and many a polypeptide. A protein can be made up of just one or multiple polypeptides. Amino acids are an essential part of the synthesis of collagen and elastin. When the supply of amino acids is reduced, it affects the renewal of cells, which causes, in particular, the thinning of the dermis. So, one would hope that putting amino acids back will help collagen and elastin production. It does, but not just any old amino acids. A study in an academic publication called (appropriately) “AMINO ACIDS,” demonstrated that “branched-chain amino acids” along with two specific amino acids, glutamine or proline, restored collagen synthesis after UV exposure.

 Hyaluronic Acid:
(Directly combined with a Very-Low-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Delivery Complex) A unique cross-linked non-animal form of hyaluronic acid that delivers water and water-soluble actives over time into the skin through its nonequilibrium gel structure, helping to maintain high skin water content for longer periods. Complex delivery of water-bound content through this system allows for smaller technologies to penetrate the skin.

Great to use on full face, neck and decolleté.

They say 60 is the new 30. Okay, maybe that’s not true, but they should say it. Age really is nothing but a number, and if you take steps to keep yourself spry and spirited, your number won’t stop you from living life to the fullest. Here are a few ways to keep your healthy lifestyle going regardless of age.

Reach for the bottle (of water). Water is life. That pretty much sums up the importance of staying hydrated. If you don’t like plain old tap water, Harvard Health Publishing asserts that you can sneak in some of your daily intakes by eating water-rich foods. These include green vegetables and watermelon. You can also add fruit to your water for guilt-free flavor.

Enjoy the sunshine responsibly. If you’re the outdoor type, you should be stocked up on sunscreen with an SPF of at least 50. Sunscreen, along with wearing a hat, sunglasses, and skin-covering clothing, can help you avoid skin cancer. If that’s not enough, the best sunscreens can even help you stave off wrinkles and that leathery skin we all fear.

Take care of the skin you’re in. Drinking water will go a long way toward keeping your skin young and healthy, but it’s not enough. If you normally wear makeup, switch to high-quality products that won’t dry your skin out or clog your pores. A hydrating body lotion and facial moisturizer will keep skin supple.

Early to bed… There is a common misconception that older adults don’t need as much sleep as everyone else. According to the National Sleep Foundation, that’s a dangerous myth. Beyond childhood, adults need seven to nine hours of restful sleep each night. If you find that you have issues falling or staying asleep, ask your doctor if it could be your medication keeping you awake. Not getting enough sleep is linked to all sorts of health conditions, including depression and heart disease. As well, sleep deprivation can trigger weight gain and tank your cognitive abilities.

Enjoy family time. Seniors are at a greater risk of loneliness than their children and grandchildren. Make a point to spend time with friends and family, and you’ll enjoy a healthier, longer life.

Start your day with balance. Breakfast is the fuel that gives you your go. A great morning meal includes something out of most food groups: protein for muscle mass, carbohydrates for energy, dairy for bone health, and fruits/vegetables for that all-important fiber that helps you…go. Here are more than 60 busy-day breakfast ideas that will keep you full and ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.

Grab a paintbrush. United Methodist Homes, a 140-year-old senior care provider, reports that hobbies support the mind and allow for physical activity. It doesn’t matter what you do. Whether you paint a masterpiece, play Bridge once a week, or sow seeds in a small backyard garden, your hobby should be something you enjoy and that brings you pleasure. You don’t have to be good at it, either.

Clear the clutter. If you want to be truly happy in your home and life, you have to clear the clutter, both literally and figuratively. At home, get rid of anything that doesn’t enhance your quality of life. Those old dress pants from the 1980s…Gone. Boxes of yard sale leftovers that collect dust in the attic…Gone. More than the physical clutter, you need to eliminate emotional baggage that keeps you down. Make amends with people who have hurt you. Share your biggest secrets. Do whatever it takes to give you a clear conscious, and you’ll find that you have more room to grow and the freedom to enjoy your best years.

Above all else, use common sense. If it doesn’t make you feel your best, don’t do it. You don’t have to give in to age. Make age give in to you by jumping ahead of the monster that is time.

As the skin ages, it loses the ability either to produce or utilization some its natural peptides. Enzymes that are designed to break down skin structures, to make way for new structures, continue to work against collagen and elastin. However, the skin cannot replace these supportive structures with new ones; the face begins to droop and sag from its original position. Also as part of the aging process, the skin becomes less able to hold on to its natural moisture. To compound this, it also produces less moisture. When cells are not adequately hydrated, they are sunken, which further worsens the look of already sagging skin.

Have you heard of SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 is an octapeptide, or the combination of 8 amino acids which are linked together to create one particular peptide. SNAP-8, created by Kinerase, is being marketed as the second generation of Argireline, and is said to be 30% more effective. According to studies (albeit published by Kinerase and not seemingly backed by any independent researchers), it can reduce the depth and appearance of wrinkles by 34.9% (Source).

What is SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 is a muscle contraction inhibitor that reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes.

It is thought to be a safer, more economical and milder alternative to Botox, in part because it is more powerful at lower concentrations.

Snap-8 has some benefits that help to reverse these signs of aging, by working under the skin to relax muscles and to provide the nutrients that skin needs to function properly. Under the skin of the face, we have some vital muscles, which make it possible for us to create expressions. As we repeatedly smile, blink, speak, and squint, our muscles begin to become more and more contracted under the skin. This prominently expresses itself around the mouth and eyes and on the forehead, as we mature.

These muscles become permanently contracted, causing wrinkles on the surface of the skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are so common and so widespread that we even have nicknames for them. Around the eyes, we have crow’s feet, around the mouth, parentheses, and worry lines on the forehead.

In clinical studies, Snap 8 was compared to Argireline. Both were used twice a day, but Snap-8 proved itself to be at least 30% more effective than Argireline.

– Reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes.

– A safer, cheaper, and milder alternative to Botulinum Toxin, topically targeting the same wrinkle-formation mechanism in a very different way.
