What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used in adults for a short period of time (temporary) to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Jeuveau stops your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex, temporarily smoothing moderate to severe lines between the brows. However, Jeuveau can cause serious side effects, including allergic reactions, heart or eye problems.

How does Jeuveau work?

When injected, Jeuveau temporarily prevents your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex. The result? In clinical trials, Jeuveau was shown to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines.

Most people still automatically turn to this compound when they want to smooth away crow’s feet and frown lines, but today, their options are more varied. Similar injectables, like Dysport, Xeomin, and now Jeuveau, allow patients to experiment with multiple neuromodulators. Though all of these products share the same basic mechanism of action, they have some important differences. Knowing the pros and cons of each product can help you achieve the results you want while working within your budget.

Jeuveau and BOTOX are made by different manufacturers and produced in different countries. BOTOX is made by Allergan and manufactured in Ireland, whereas Jeuveau is made by Evolus and produced in South Korea. Jeuveau also uses a slightly different form of botulinum toxin than BOTOX: BOTOX contains onabotulinumtoxinA and Jeuveau contains prabotulinumtoxinA. According to clinical trials, both compounds share a similar safety profile and are equally effective for treating dynamic wrinkles.

Botox is one of the most popular injectable cosmetic treatments on the market. That’s not surprising as it’s been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use since 2002. In 2019, however, a new botulinum toxin for cosmetic use came to life. It’s called Jeuveau (a name with a lot of vowels!) and offers many of the same benefits as Botox. Some people even refer to it as “Newtox.” So, is Jeuveau better than Botox?

How Botox and Jeuveau Work

You won’t notice a major difference between a Botox and Jeuveau treatment. During treatment, one of our expert providers will gently inject the neurotoxin formula into certain facial muscles. The neurotoxin will stop the nerve impulses that cause wrinkles and an aged appearance.

Both Botox and Jeuveau are great options if your primary concern is dynamic wrinkles. These are wrinkles like crow’s feet and frown lines that deepen whenever you express yourself. One of the greatest advantages of these treatments is their rapid onset (within a few days).

Also, several studies have shown that Jeuveau may give longer-lasting results than Botox. Most patients enjoy beautiful results for three to four months. Duration of effect can vary from patient to patient, however, and for some people, Botox lasts longer.

The company behind Jeuveau® is Evolus. They were convinced that they wanted to enter the medical aesthetics industry.

The largest category in this sector is neurotoxins. Wrinkle reduction is the most popular procedure and Allergan has been dominating the market.

It owns 70% of the market share while Dysport has captured 20% and Xeomin only has 10%.

Neurotoxins generate a $1.2 billion revenue on the U.S. alone. With another player in the field, the sales for these companies will drop and there will be a tough competition for the customers.

Understanding Pricing

All of the injectable muscle relaxants like Botox® arrive from the manufacturer as a freeze-dried powder in sterile vials. In order to be able to inject them, they have to be mixed with a liquid. Depending on the intended use, specific amounts of saline solution are added to each vial to produce the desired concentration.

The number of units delivered with each injection determines the degree and duration of results. For example, with Botox® Cosmetic, it takes about 20 units to relax the average woman’s frown muscles adequately for a full three months but using 40 units can produce up to six months of relaxation.

There’s a lot of variation in how many units of neuromodulator each person needs depending on the size and distribution of their muscles. In general, most women will need about 60 to 70 units of Botox to relax the three most commonly treated areas ( foreheads, frown lines, and crow’s feet). Men usually need up 25-50% more units than women for each area because of the larger size & strength of their corresponding facial muscles.

The number of units used with Botox and Jeuveau are essentially the same but Dysport requires about 2.5 units for every unit of Botox or Jeuveau. The price per treatment is usually the same regardless of the medication chosen.

Dry skin can have causes that aren’t due to underlying disease. Examples include dry environment, frequently washing hands, inadequate hydration, swimming in a chlorinated pool, living in an area with dry climate, or jobs that are rough on the hands such as mechanics or farming.

What skin type do you have?

Many people are unsure what type of skin they have, and this leads to using the wrong products. Which of the below resonates? Don’t forget that you can have combination oily/dry skin, and that dry skin can be normal or also sensitive.

  • Dry – can’t get enough cream? Flaky or rough skin?
  • Oily – if your skin is often greasy-feeling or extra shiny, you likely have oily skin.
  • Combination – a mix of areas that are dry and oily.
  • Normal – no notable problems, and not sensitive to most products.
  • Sensitive – likely reacts to common products, stinging or burning after use.

If the description of dry skin resonates with you, it’s important to keep a few tips in mind.

Choose Products & Ingredients Carefully

Before we get into active skin care tips, all products you use should be organic and fee of toxic ingredients, carefully chosen to avoid worsening dry skin or making it unhappy in general.

Dry skin can handle heavier oils, and indeed often should use them, but there are certain actives and additional ingredients to avoid.

Ingredients to Avoid if You Have Dry Skin

  • Alcohol (except for hand sanitizer)
  • Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA)
  • Fragrance, including deodorant soaps
  • Retinoids
  • Sulfate
  • Paraben
  • Astringents
  • Harsh or too-strong cleansers
  • Anything you’ve found to cause irritation

Fabulous heavier plant oils and strong emollients and humectants can add and help maintain moisture in your skin. In addition, some skin-safe acids are wonderful to alleviate dry skin.

Ingredients to Use if You Have Dry Skin

  • Coconut Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Honey
  • Goat Milk
  • Aloe Vera
  • Glycerin
  • Hyaluronic Acid

Baths and showers

Tempting as it is to linger in a hot bath or shower, this is one of the worst habits for dry skin. Too-hot water dries skin out, leaving dry skin even drier. Try to keep showers only warm, rather than hot, and limit your time in them. Be sure to moisturize skin as soon as you get out, too.

Stay away from hot Jacuzzi!

Use a gentle cleanser

As you might have guessed, dry skin needs only a gentle cleanser. If your skin feels tight immediately after washing and drying your face, the cleanser is probably too drying for your skin type. We recommend using a cleanser meant for dry skin or a cream cleanser to help restore hydration as you remove oils and dirt.

Check out some of great cleansers:

Hydrate!

Whether caused by genetics, temperature changes or chemical irritants, dry skin needs the right skincare products designed to increase the skin-s water-binding capacities and prevent the loss of moisture from the deepest skin layers. Contact your dermatologist if your dry skin conditions persist or appear to worsen, even with treatment.

Moisturizing is a must to keep all skin types looking plump and healthy, and this is particularly true for dry skin. Find a cream that absorbs well and leaves your skin feeling soft for as long as possible. If needed, use something closer to Vaseline for those extra dry spots that need more love. Additionally, consider carrying around a small, non-greasy hand cream to apply after every hand wash. Exposed to hot water, soil and weather extremes, the skin on your hands can easily become overburdened and damaged. Dry and cracked hands are prone to more serious conditions like eczema and dermatitis. So keep them well moisturized, and protect them with gloves in cold weather, when using cleaning products or gardening.

Here are some of our favorite organic moisturizers for dry skin:

Be careful of hot dry heat

Hot dry heat, just like hot showers, tends to dry skin out. In the winter this becomes particularly noticeable as you spend more time in heated buildings without much moisture in the air. Try to avoid sitting too close to the fire, and consider using a humidifier where possible in dry seasons to give your skin a break.

Humidifier therapy adds moisture to the air to prevent dryness that can cause irritation in many parts of the body. Humidifiers can be particularly effective for treating dryness of the skin, nose, throat, and lips. They can also ease some of the symptoms caused by the flu or common cold.

Summary – How to Care for Dry Skin

Dry skin needs low heat and extra moisture, and with a few simple tweaks to your products and routine, you can help skin stay hydrated and happy. We’d love to know how you cater to dry skin and what products your customers are most into. Your skin should start to feel better quickly. If these changes do not bring relief, you may want to see a dermatologist.

Botox only lasts three to six months—and yet what’s less commonly discussed is this: Facial muscles naturally weaken over time and going overboard in a certain area could have unwanted consequences.

If you do too much Botox on your forehead for many, many years, the muscles will get weaker and flatter, adding that the skin can also appear thinner and looser. Your muscles become weaker, they can start to recruit surrounding muscles when you make facial expressions. If you stop using the forehead muscles, they may start squinting using their nose and have wrinkles along the side of their nose.

Botox is a neurotoxin that paralyzes the muscle. After people use it, they start losing volume in their face, and that accelerates the appearance of aging.

What Is Botox?

Botox is a drug doctors have been using for years to treat wrinkles and facial creases. Botox is a brand name of a toxin made by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. There are other brands, such as Dysport and Xeomin. Botox is the term you hear most often because it was the first injectable botulinum toxin.

What happens if you stop getting Botox?

There is nothing harmful about stopping Botox. Nor are there any dangerous or negative side effects. Your muscles will simply not be as relaxed. You will have total mobility of the treated area, regardless of how long you received Botox injections.

In short, studies show that when Botox is used over time, it will lead to decreased muscle mass in your face. And even loss of bone bass. Which in turn will accelerate the loss of facial volume, and cause sagging skin. Something that indeed can make you look older.

Another concern is that prolonged use of Botox may cause thinning of your skin. Which also will have a negative impact on your skin’s appearance and youthfulness.

Most doctors suggest focusing on the quality of the skin with a proper regimen that includes daily exfoliation and SPF protection, as well regular chemical peels or specialized treatments such as Clear and Brilliant laser resurfacing during this decade.

Is Hibiscus a natural Botox?

The skin-firming powers of hibiscus are well documented, touting it as a natural ‘Botox. ‘ The antioxidants present in hibiscus decrease elastase activity, which breaks down elastin.

Hibiscus also contains vitamin C, which promotes the production of collagen, thus maintaining skin elasticity.

Hibiscus: A Natural Alternative to Botox

When you think of hibiscus, the first thing that probably comes to mind is its exquisite beauty. But, beyond its aesthetics lies an abundance of benefits, both to skin and health. You can incorporate hibiscus into your daily skincare routine or take it as hibiscus tea. Either way, you’re going to love the benefits it offers.

The hibiscus flower comes loaded with a rich mix of plant compounds, including vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and malic acid. Hibiscus supports your body’s natural collagen production.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body-accounting for about one-third of your body’s protein composition.

This protein is one of the primary building blocks of skin, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. It is also found in many other body parts, including teeth, blood vessels, and corneas.

There are plenty of ways to increase the amount of collagen in your body, including taking collagen powders with mixed drinks. But, thanks to the vitamin C present in the hibiscus flower, your body can increase its collagen production naturally, without any supplements.

Hibiscus also aids in the production of elastin. Elastin is a protein produced naturally by your body. Elastin comprises amino acids, fibroblasts, and peptides, structured differently, depending on their function. Hibiscus is full of anthocyanocides, a group of antioxidants found in individual medicinal plants. Antioxidants effectively fight the skin-damaging characteristics of free radicals, which spawn when pollutants such as traffic pollution and ultraviolet radiation contact your skin. These pollutants can cause premature skin aging.

The hibiscus flower has everything you need in a skincare product. It hydrates, exfoliates, lifts, and tightens skin, all at the same time. The collagen and elastin present in the hibiscus flower also makes it a perfect natural substitute for Botox.

Here are five ways you can use hibiscus to make face masks that moisturize, plump, and fortify your skin.

Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor that reduces nutritional blood flow to the skin, resulting in tissue ischemia and impaired healing of injured tissue.

What does smoking do to skin?

When you vape, nicotine impedes blood flow, which slows wound healing. One study demonstrated that vaping slowed that healing after surgery—an extreme example of why nicotine isn’t good for skin health at any time.

Nicotine also increases platelet adhesiveness, raising the risk of thrombotic microvascular occlusion and tissue ischemia.

How nicotine harms our skin

The nicotine in vaping liquids dehydrates your skin,” explains Dr. Raja. “So you can get premature wrinkles and very dry skin, which don’t look good. In addition to skin aging, too, vaping can also delay wound healing.

Nicotine and Wrinkles

Crow’s feet are a common type of wrinkling that develops at the outer edges of the eyes. For smokers, this damage usually starts much earlier than it does for other people, who get crow’s feet as they age.

Smoking-related skin damage can cause sagging skin in other parts of the body. In particular, breasts and upper arms are often affected by the loss of skin elasticity due to smoking.

Psoriasis is a skin condition that produces itchy, red scaly patches. Stress can bring it on, but smoking is also a risk factor.

Doctors think that the link between the disease and smoking may be the nicotine in cigarettes. Nicotine affects the immune system, skin inflammation, and skin cell growth, all of which can contribute to the development of psoriasis.

Smoking just about doubles a person’s risk of developing psoriasis, with the risk going up depending on the number of cigarettes smoked.

Nicotine and acne

acne inversa, is a relatively common inflammatory skin disease that affects people in areas of the body where skin rubs against skin, like the armpits, groin, and under the breasts in women.

Does nicotine affect the skin tone?

The skin tone of smokers can be uneven and off, tending toward an orange or grey tone. Lack of oxygen to skin cells no doubt plays a part in why this occurs, along with the negative effects of numerous other chemicals in tobacco.

Cigarette smoke is laden with over 7,000 chemicals, including 250 that are poisonous and 70 that cause cancer.

Does nicotine reduce collagen?

Collagen and elastin production will assist in that as well, as they’re no longer being hindered by toxins in cigarettes. Smokers tend to have wrinkles around the mouth, upper lip, and eyes, darker skin, less radiance, and less tightness overall in their skin. smoking doesn’t just increase the toxic load on our skin. It also eats away at stores of the stuff that actively improves our skin. In this case, we’re talking collagen.

Nicotine inhibits collagen synthesis and alkaline phosphatase activity, but stimulates DNA synthesis in osteoblast-like cells. … This study was performed to test the effects of nicotine on bone-forming cells at concentrations that occur in the saliva of smokeless tobacco users.

  • Impaired collagen production
    • Fibroblasts (the collagen production factories) are inhibited by nicotine.
    • Lower levels of vitamin C are found in smokers’ tissue.  Vitamin C is vital to the assembly of new collagen.

Did you know that The only lipid soluble vitamin c ester that works at the dermis layer to boost collagen and restore skin radiance?

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C, used in cosmetics, personal care products and anti-aging products because of its ability to increase collagen levels, reduce melanin production, brighten skin, and repair the effects of UV exposure and other environmental damage.

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a stable form of vitamin C that is considered an analogue of L-ascorbic acid. Unlike pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid), tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is lipid (fat) soluble.

Has excellent skin penetration and as a result, offers increased cell protection against UV-B. The skin cell viability is increased up to 30% when compared with l-ascorbic acid. Clear yellowish liquid. Oil-soluble, water-insoluble.

In other words, it penetrates skin faster and goes in deeper than any other form of vitamin C (including L-Ascorbic Acid!).

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is oil-soluble. Studies show that it penetrates both the epidermis (the uppermost layer of skin) and dermis (the deepest layer of skin).

Benefits:

  • Can improve the appearance of aged and fragile skin
  • Widely used as add-on ingredient in skin-lightening products to correct hyperpigmentation and age spots
  • Antioxidants effect can be increased by combining L-ascorbic acid with L-ascorbyl palmitate and/or vitamin E
  • Does not give finished formulas a yellowish tint like l-ascorbic acid

What is Snap 8 Peptide?

Snap 8 is an elongation of the hexapeptide, acetyl hexapeptide-3, otherwise known as Argireline. It’s been nicknamed the “anti-wrinkle peptide”. Argireline is a peptide that prevents the formation of wrinkles around the eyes, brow, nose, and mouth – all of the areas of the face that allow us to make expressions and display emotion. How does it prevent wrinkles and lines? Argireline inhibits muscle movement, and has earned the name “Botox in a jar” as a result – but Botox and Argireline work differently.

Botox boosts collagen and helps repair skin to reduce lines and wrinkles. Argireline and Snap 8 work by mimicking the proteins found in the SNARE complex and destabilizing it to prevent muscle movement. If you can’t frown, you won’t have wrinkles from frowning.

Purposes of Snap 8 Peptide

Like Argireline, Snap 8 is meant to give skin fewer wrinkles. By limiting the ability of the face to squint, grin, or glare, the skin is relaxed and expression lines are reduced. Snap 8 is added to many cosmetics in order to give provide:

  • Anti-aging properties
  • Fewer wrinkles
  • Fewer expression lines
  • Reduced crow’s feet around the eyes

Scientific Studies of Snap 8 Peptide

Kinerase studies of Snap 8 conducted by their researchers will reduce the appearance and depth of wrinkles by more than 34%. It is considered a safer method of reducing wrinkles than Botox by most.

In scientific studies involving animal test subjects, Snap 8 operates as a muscle contraction inhibitor. The muscles provide a more consistent method of achieving homeostasis when they are given Snap 8.

Studies also show that Snap 8 works alongside protein Snap 25, which is a T-Snare protein that can regulate the contraction of muscles. When Snap 25 becomes destabilized, wrinkles and lines formed on animal test subjects.

With Snap 8 used in conjunction with Snap 25, the Snap 25 protein remained stabilized for much longer periods of time which provides a more stabilized method of contracting muscles and hypothetically could remove more wrinkles and offer anti-aging properties.

More information

Botox is a popular treatment which is renowned for its unique ability to help an assortment of conditions.

Botox is an approved drug which is injected into the face to reduce wrinkles. The most common places to have Botox injected are the forehead, frown lines, around the eyes and the lower face, but it also has other medical applications. Botox is entirely safe when injected by a trained medical professional.

Truths and Myths about Botox Treatment

If you’re undecided on whether Botox is right for you, here are seven myths and truths you need to know and consider, before taking the plunge.

#1 The Myth – Dermal Fillers and Botox are the same Treatment

The Truth – Dermal Fillers plump up the skin and Botox relaxes your facial muscles.

While dermal fillers and Botox are both facial injectable, they serve an entirely different purpose. Botox is designed to stop habitual muscle use, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Dermal fillers also reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but they do so by plumping up the skin. Many patients choose to use both options which create a plumper, wrinkle-free face.

#2 The Myth – Botox Treatment is only for women

The Truth – Botox Treatments are used for removing wrinkles from your face, despite your gender.

If you’re looking for Botox in Chiswick, then it’s great to know there are no gendered facial treatments. Botox is appropriate for anyone with wrinkles caused by muscle contractions. While men and women can experience great results with Botox, men get better results with injections designed to enhance their masculine features. Research has found that men need more Botox per treatment.

#3 The Myth – Botox is only for the cosmetic purpose

The Truth – Botox can help recover people suffering from overactive bladders and migraine pain.

Botox is excellent for managing and healing a wide range of medical conditions. The active ingredient in Botox is an effective treatment for ailments such an overactive bladder, migraines, excess sweating and teeth grinding. It also reduces scars after reconstructive facial surgery.

#4 The Myth – Taking Botox is a very painful process

The Truth – Painless techniques like preserved saline are available to maximize patients comfort and decrease pain.

Botox injections are designed to minimize pain. Newer injections combine Botox with preserved saline, which is proven to reduce any pain you may feel when it is being injected. Many doctors use a technique where they push the skin into the needle, which is gentler and much less painful.

#5 The Myth – Botox is a permanent solution to a wrinkle-free face

The Truth – Botox treatment is temporary and results last only for 3-6 months.

Botox wears off. Although it is a personal preference, most users schedule appointments every three to six months to prevent wrinkles from returning.

#6 The Myth – Botox makes wrinkles worse once you stop using it

The Truth – Botox has no negative side effects.

If you decide to stop using Botox, your normal muscle function will return. You might think that the normal frown lines or crow’s feet appear to be worse since you are accustomed to seeing a line-free face. But, the fact is, it will just go back to the same condition it was in before using the Botox.

#7 The Myth – If you go through plastic surgery you will never need Botox

The Truth – Plastic surgery and Botox work differently.

General plastic surgery is designed to sculpt or lift unwanted facial features. While a facelift may give you a tighter appearance, it won’t stop your muscles from contracting which is the main cause of wrinkles. Plastic surgery cannot immobilize muscles, which is why Botox is the injectable of choice for wrinkles.

By applying peptides through skin care, we are actually tricking the skin to make more collagen.

What Are Peptides & How They Fight The Look Of Wrinkles:

Peptides are recognized as an “anti-aging” ingredient almost like proteins or amino acids are to bodybuilders.

What are peptides and what is their mode of action?

peptide is any compound composed of amino acids with the chemical structure of an amide between a carboxyl group of one amino acid and an amino group of another amino acid. Peptides with fewer than 10–20 bonds are referred to as oligopeptides; if they include more amino acids then they are polypeptides.

Peptides incorporated in anti-aging cosmetic products fall into three categories: signal peptides, carrier peptides and neurotransmitter blocking peptides.

Signal peptides mimic protein sequences found in collagen and elastin and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin.

Carrier peptides act as vehicles for other ingredients to aid in the enzymatic processes that increase collagen synthesis.

Some peptides are fragmented and can block neurotransmission that can lead to the reduction in facial contractions that would eventually break down the collagen and create the appearance of wrinkles.

Use of peptides in skin care formulations is boundless. Slight modifications in the sequence or differing feedstock can alter the functionality of the peptides.

What Do They Do To Your Skin:

In stimulating collagen production, peptides promote a more elastic and supple look to skin and increase the youthful appearance of the complexion.

Studies on oligopeptides (the type used in I’M FABULOUS COSMETICS products) have been published in the Journal of Cosmetics, Dermatological Sciences, and Applications.

The High Tech Copper Peptide Serum 5% encourage skin health to target all aspects of skin aging by keeping the skin in an ongoing state of repair.

The peptide is responsible for activation of a wide range of skin health functions, including wound healing, immune function, collagen synthesis, blood vessel development, fibroblast production and anti-inflammatory responses.

The concentration of this peptide in human plasma continues to drop with aging past late teenage years and this drop exceeds 55% by age 55.

Many anti-aging products on the market contain variations of copper peptides in extremely small amounts. Generally, these variation peptides are found in parts per million in active technologies that topical products claim to include at high percentages but the final concentration of the variation peptides in topical products is generally less than 0.01% and these peptides would then have to be converted to even smaller amounts of pure copper peptides within the skin.

This fabulous serum contains 5.0% pure Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu) to be mixed with a specialized organic and vegan activator before first use. This extraordinary concentration allows activation of a wide array of skin health functions that help to prevent and reverse largely all aspects of visible skin aging, including textural damage, uneven pigmentation, loss of elasticity, lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and general lack of a healthy radiance present in younger skin. In short, the skin will act and look younger starting within 5 days with continued improvements over time.

Animo Acids: (Sodium L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, Sodium Lactate, LArginine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Pyrrolidonecarboxylic Acid, Glycine, L-Alanine, L-Serine, L-Valine, L-Proline, L-threonine, L-Isoleucine, L-Histidine, L-Phenylalanine). Amino acids make up 75% of the human body. proteins, amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. They band together in chains to form the stuff from which life is born. This is a two-step process: first, they get together and form peptides or polypeptides, and it is from these groupings that proteins are made. Two amino acids joined in a peptide bond constitute a dipeptide, three a tripeptide, several an oligopeptide, and many a polypeptide. A protein can be made up of just one or multiple polypeptides. Amino acids are an essential part of the synthesis of collagen and elastin. When the supply of amino acids is reduced, it affects the renewal of cells, which causes, in particular, the thinning of the dermis. So, one would hope that putting amino acids back will help collagen and elastin production. It does, but not just any old amino acids. A study in an academic publication called (appropriately) “AMINO ACIDS,” demonstrated that “branched-chain amino acids” along with two specific amino acids, glutamine or proline, restored collagen synthesis after UV exposure.

 Hyaluronic Acid:
(Directly combined with a Very-Low-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Delivery Complex) A unique cross-linked non-animal form of hyaluronic acid that delivers water and water-soluble actives over time into the skin through its nonequilibrium gel structure, helping to maintain high skin water content for longer periods. Complex delivery of water-bound content through this system allows for smaller technologies to penetrate the skin.

Great to use on full face, neck and decolleté.

Skin Roller:

REGENERATE YOUTHFUL SKIN AND LOOK YEARS YOUNGER! The derma roller stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in a smoother, firmer, healthier, and younger-looking skin. Use this beauty tool to reduce and combat the signs of aging! The appearance of scars from injury or acne, fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and other blemishes on the face or body are now a thing of the past.

As the skin ages, it loses the ability either to produce or utilization some its natural peptides. Enzymes that are designed to break down skin structures, to make way for new structures, continue to work against collagen and elastin. However, the skin cannot replace these supportive structures with new ones; the face begins to droop and sag from its original position. Also as part of the aging process, the skin becomes less able to hold on to its natural moisture. To compound this, it also produces less moisture. When cells are not adequately hydrated, they are sunken, which further worsens the look of already sagging skin.

Have you heard of SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 is an octapeptide, or the combination of 8 amino acids which are linked together to create one particular peptide. SNAP-8, created by Kinerase, is being marketed as the second generation of Argireline, and is said to be 30% more effective. According to studies (albeit published by Kinerase and not seemingly backed by any independent researchers), it can reduce the depth and appearance of wrinkles by 34.9% (Source).

What is SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 is a muscle contraction inhibitor that reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes.

It is thought to be a safer, more economical and milder alternative to Botox, in part because it is more powerful at lower concentrations.

Snap-8 has some benefits that help to reverse these signs of aging, by working under the skin to relax muscles and to provide the nutrients that skin needs to function properly. Under the skin of the face, we have some vital muscles, which make it possible for us to create expressions. As we repeatedly smile, blink, speak, and squint, our muscles begin to become more and more contracted under the skin. This prominently expresses itself around the mouth and eyes and on the forehead, as we mature.

These muscles become permanently contracted, causing wrinkles on the surface of the skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are so common and so widespread that we even have nicknames for them. Around the eyes, we have crow’s feet, around the mouth, parentheses, and worry lines on the forehead.

In clinical studies, Snap 8 was compared to Argireline. Both were used twice a day, but Snap-8 proved itself to be at least 30% more effective than Argireline.

– Reduces the depth of wrinkles on the face caused by the contraction of muscles of facial expression, especially in the forehead and around the eyes.

– A safer, cheaper, and milder alternative to Botulinum Toxin, topically targeting the same wrinkle-formation mechanism in a very different way.

More and more people are spending money on collagen, seeking out fillers or buying special creams in the hopes of minimizing wrinkles and achieving more supple skin.

But what’s actually the best way to make sure you’re getting all of the added collagen you want?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies, especially type 1 collagen. It’s found in muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, digestive system and tendons. It’s what helps give our skin strength and elasticity, along with replacing dead skin cells. When it comes to our joints and tendons, in simplest terms, it’s the “glue” that helps hold the body together.

Our body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age. We can thank this degenerative process for signs of aging, such as wrinkles, sagging skin and joint pains due to weaker or decreased cartilage. Other lifestyle factors — like eating a diet high in sugar, smoking and high amounts of sun exposure — also contribute to depleting collagen levels. It’s been found that collagen-related diseases most commonly arise from a combination of either genetic defects, poor intake of collagen-rich foods, nutritional deficiencies and digestive problems affecting production (synthesis) of collagen.

Collagen Production as We Age

When we get older, the production of collagen begins to slow down. As a result, skin can become fragile and less elastic. In addition, hair starts losing its color, joints aren’t as flexible and bone may lose their density.  Supplementing with collagen may help you improve your body’s collagen levels.

PEPTIDE COLLAGEN REPAIR CREAM ORGANIC

I’m Fabulous® peptides collagen repair cream, support the healing and repair response in the skin, increases skin thickness, refines the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone and skin texture, and restores the elasticity and firmness to the skin.

The benefits of peptides in this fabulous matte formulation cream are the stimulation of collagen 1, collagen 111, and elastin fibroblasts.

  • Type I collagen forms striated fibers between 80 and 160 nm in diameter in blood vessel walls, tendon, bone, skin and meat. It may be synthesized by fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells.
  • Type III collagen forms reticular fibers in tissues with some degree of elasticity, such as spleen, aorta and muscle. It is synthesized by fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells, contributes substantially to the endomysial connective tissues around individual muscle fibers, provides a small fraction of the collagen found in skin and occurs in the large collagen fibers dominated by Type I collagen. It may have some function in regulating collagen fiber growth.

With efficient moisturization via Hyaluronic acid, as well as non-comedogenic jojoba oil and half a dozen unique botanical actives, this fabulous peptide cream is absolutely fabulous.
